Funding Assistance
The Butler County Recycling and Solid Waste District and Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) provide funding assistance to organizations interested in sustainable recycling.
BCDES Recycling Incentive Grant
Any Butler County business, government entity, non-profit organization or school is eligible.
$10,000–$15,000 in funding is available on a competitive basis. Grant awards range from $200 up to $2,900. Applicants must be able to provide a 25% grant match.

ODNR Community & Market Development Grants
ODNR offers grant awards to local governments and businesses interested in developing and expanding Ohio's recycling market infrastructure. The targeted recyclable materials include:
• Carpet and padding
• Construction and demolition debris
• Deconstruction material
• Electronics
• Glass
• Office paper and old newsprint
• Old corrugated cardboard Electronics
• Organic (food and fiber-based) material
• Plastic
ODNR grant funds can help a manufacturing/processing facility expand capabilities to process base material or manufacture a finished product; a facility install an “in-vessel” or similar processing system for food waste; or a private recycling facility expand operational capacity.
BCDES' Solid Waste District can apply on behalf of a Butler County business.
Applications are available in the fall and are due early February. The grant period is 24 months.
A total of $1 million in funding is available on a competitive basis. Applicants must be able to provide a 100% grant match. MORE
