Surcharge Credit
The program has been developed to maximize continued efforts by industries to improve their waste handling operations prior to final disposal. BCWS's goal is to achieve protection of the environment from industrial pollutants that pass through or interfere with operations.
The Surcharge Credit Program will provide industrial discharges with a credit if the quality of their discharge is less than 80 percent of the allowable surcharge levels for Total Suspended Solids and Biochemical Oxygen Demand or Chemical Oxygen Demand. These three pollutants are also seen in residential discharges at the allowable surcharge concentrations.
In order for there to be a credit issued, there would also have to be no violations of the Sewer Use Rule.
